USHRAB Internships

The Utah State Historical Records Advisory Board (USHRAB), in partnership with the Utah State Archives and Records Service, offers paid, semester-long internships that provide students with hands-on experience in archives, records management, and cultural heritage research. Interns work alongside professionals on real projects such as records appraisal, accessioning historical materials, and researching cultural heritage organizations across Utah. These internships support professional development while helping preserve and improve access to Utah’s public records and historical collections.

Andrew Smith is a recent graduate who enjoys art, history, web design, and user experience. He’s especially interested in learning more about what makes Utah work—from its people and communities to the systems that support them. He finds it meaningful to see how records and archives help keep history alive and provide useful information to the public. He’s excited to keep learning and hopes to give back by helping others connect with the resources they need during his internship working on the USHRAB website
